The ESC Tours-Poitiers Programme's Atelis Session
Workshop Overview and Objectives:
In an environment where information proficiency has become a strategic key, this workshop was designed to teach students the issues at stake in informational awareness and business intelligence for companies. Once the theoretical foundations have been set, regarding the methodologies and tools in use in companies, students will be asked to complete (in groups) a field mission, entrusted to them by a company or partner. Special guidance will be given to each working group.
Pre-requisites and expectations with respect to workshop content:
Proficiency with IT tools and the Internet. Ability to take initiative and constantly challenge one's ideas. Curiosity and sense of teamwork.
Good general knowledge.
Curriculum:
Part 1: BI Theory:
- What do the terms business intelligence and strategic intelligence encompass? What is business watch, etc.?
- Work methodology and tools available to those in charge of business watch
- BI serving innovation
- The impact of information systems on a strategic intelligence approach
- Aspects of "informational warfare"
- Value-Based management
Part 2: Hands-On Approach:
- Based
on an actual business case, a working group
is put together and carries out a watch or business
intelligence mission. Progress reports are delivered
on a regular basis.

by Atelis partners or companies. A confidentiality
clause may be required.
